Bursa—Turkish automotive sales fell to their lowest level in the past 16 years in 2019, due to the country’s economic slowdown amid high interest rates and inflation, according to the latest data. Domestic passenger and light commercial vehicles sales shrank 23% year on year to 479,060 units in 2019, Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) data show. Domestic sales of passenger vehicles fell 20.4% to 387,256 units, while light commercial vehicle sales slumped 31.8% to 91,804 units, according to the data.
