South Africa’s July mining output increases from June: Afriforesight

South Africa’s July mining output continued the trend of month-onmonth recovery since May as a result of loosening of coronavirus-related restrictions, though in a year-on-year comparison activity was still weak, despite better platinum group metal production, South African research house Afriforesight said. Total South African mining production fell 9.1% year on year in July but rose 14.6% from June. Seasonally adjusted, July figures fell 10.7% year on year but rose 20.2% from June, according to Statistics South Africa.
