A recent suspension of operations at Rusal joint venture Bauxite Company of Guyana Incorporated’s mine will not lead to any financial or production losses for Rusal, the Russian aluminum producer told S&P Global Platts on Monday. “Other departments of this company have continued to operate as usual and therefore the export of bauxites has not been interrupted. Furthermore, there is a sufficient amount of a better quality bauxite in the market selling at a lower price, so we have the opportunity to replace any potential losses, should they occur, with alternative supplies”, a company spokesperson said Monday.
