Asian ferrosilicon spot export prices strengthened this week as China returned from the extended Lunar New Year holidays. S&P Global Platts assessed the Chinese 75% Si ferrosilicon price at $1,180-$1,200/mt FOB China on Thursday, up from $1,150- $1,170/mt last week. The Japanese import assessment also rose to $1,165-$1,200/mt CIF Japan this week from $1,150-$1,170/mt CIF a week ago.
