S&P Global Platts assessed the weekly China copper premiums at $45-$55/ mt C&F China on Wednesday for London Metal Exchange-registered brands of cath- ode, down from $50-$60/mt last week. Spot import trade into China remained thin on prevailing weak demand, and sentiment also weakened further as LME copper prices fell this week, following China’s return from extended holidays from May 1-4 to celebrate Labour Day, sources said.
