AZR startup news imminent, sources talk TC/RCs

An official with American Zinc Recycling said this week the company would have “an announcement very soon” on its planned April startup of its 155,000 mt/year recycling plant in Mooresboro, North Carolina. “It’s almost ready, but it’s not [operational] yet,” an AZR spokeswoman told S&P Global Platts. “We’re very close, we just haven’t made an official announcement yet.” The spokeswoman added “our team in North Carolina is on track to begin zinc production this month. Once operational, we plan to steadily increase production levels throughout 2019, and expect to reach full capacity in the first half of 2020.
