Shoot meristems from in-vitro-raised seedlings were cultured on liquid or solidified Knudson C medium supplemented with 15% coconut milk, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 mg IAA/litre, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 mg 2,4-D/litre or a combination of NAA (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 mg/litre) and benzyladnine (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 mg/litre). Protocorm-like body (PLB) formation was greatest with 1.0 mg 2,4-D/litre among the single growth regulator treatments. PLB formation was generally greater on media supplemented with NAA +benzyladenine reaching a maximum with 2.0 mg NAA + 3.0 mg BA/litre. Results were better with the liquid media.
