PDP Conference Workshop Monitoring and management of saline intrusion effectson groundwater

摘要

Taking a lead from the ever-popular wine tasting and whiskey tasting events, the workshop began with a saline water tasting exercise. Participants were provided with three different types of water and asked to provide an aesthetic assessment of them—although they were not told the source of the water they were tasting. The results indicated a wide variation of responses between people who were tasting the same type of water, indicating how subjective these judgements are and the wide range of sensitivity to taste among individuals.
