Methanex Secures Natural Gas Supply For Medicine Hat Methanol Facility

Alberta-Metha-nex has entered into a 14-year, fixed price contract with Painted Pony Energy for the supply of the majority of natural gas required for Methanex's existing 600,000-t/y methanol plant in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Contracted quantities will start at around 10-million cu ft/d, lower than in previous years, and will increase to approximately 50-million cu ft/d starting in 2023. Painted Pony will begin deliveries next year.
