New Delhi—Agrium and Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (PotashCorp) have received approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for their proposed merger of equals transaction (PCN, 11 Sept 2017, p 4). The CCI's approval is conditional on the parties' commitment to divest PotashCorp's minority stakes in Arab Potash Co., Israel Chemicals Ltd. and Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile SA, within a period of 18 months from the issuance of the order. The companies are permitted to consummate the merger prior to the divestments.
