Evonik Developing 'Unique' MMA Technology; Process Being Tested at German Pilot Plant

Essen— Evonik said it is currently developing a "unique" process for methyl methacrylate (MMA) production that uses considerably less energy and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40%. The new technology, named LiMA for "Leading in Methacrylates," is currently being tested at a pilot plant in Darmstadt, Germany, and initial results have already shown the quality of MMA to be "excellent."
