Sibur Plans Upgrade Project at Polief To Expand TPA Production Capacity

Moscow—Sibur has begun an upgrade project at its Polief subsidiary's site in Blagoveshchensk, Russia, to increase terephthalic acid (TPA) production capacity. The project, which will increase TPA production capacity to 350,000 t/y, involves the upgrade of eleven existing facilities and is designed to renovate 150 units of core production equipment and most of the ancillary equipment. Completion is scheduled in 2019.
