Braskem, Linde Provide Project Update For Braskem's Delta PP Unit in Texas

La Porte-Braskem and its lead engineering, procurement and construction contractor Linde have selected Bilfinger Westcon as the lead mechanical subcontractor for Braskem's Delta polypropylene (PP) facility being built in La Porte, Texas (PCN, 17 July 2017, p 1). The new plant, expected to cost up to $675-million, will utilize the Unipol PP process technology and will have a capacity of 450,000 t/y of PP for the production of ho-mopolymers, random copolymers, impact copolymers and reactor thermoplastic olefins. The facility remains on track for start-up in the first quarter of 2020.
