Yara and BASF JV Announce Opening Of New Freeport Ammonia Facility

Freeport-Yara Freeport LLC, a joint venture of Yara (68%) and BASF (32%), said it has opened its new world-scale ammonia facility in Freeport, Texas (PCN, 3 Aug 2015, p 1). The $600-million state-of-the-art plant, based on a cost-efficient and sustainable hydrogen-based process, has a capacity of 750,000 t/y of ammonia.
