Team Tankers Signs Accords to Buy Laurin Shipping and Anglo-Atlantic

Hamilton-Team Tankers International Ltd. has entered into share purchase agreements with both Laurin Shipping AB and Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Co. to acquire all outstanding shares of both companies at a total enterprise value of about $206-million. With the acquisition of Laurin, Team Tankers will add a "leading" medium range tanker (MR) operator to its chemical tanker platform, Team Tankers noted. The purchase of Anglo-Atlantic will secure a critical mass of "sophisticated" MRs and a broad portfolio of contracts of affreightment.
