Petrobras Mothballing Fertilizer Plants; Starts Bidding Process to Lease Units

Bahia-Petro-bras is mothballing a fertilizer unit in Bahia (Fafen-BA) and a fertilizer plant in Sergipe (Fafen-SE), both in Brazil, and has begun the bidding process for the leasing of the units. The company first announced its plan to mothball the units last month; however, a preliminary injunction, derived from action proposed by Sinpeq, suspended plans. On 21 Mar. 2019, Petrobras said it had obtained a favorable decision, reversing the injunction.
