Neste Establishes Office in Dusseldorf For Renewable Polymers and Chems

Dusseldorf-Neste has established a new office in Dusseldorf,Germany,to serve as the global hub for its Renewable Polymers and Chemicals business unit.The business unit provides the plastics and chemicals industries with solutions derived from biomass and chemically recycled plastic waste,enabling sustainability-oriented companies to reduce their dependence on crude oil and reach their own sustainability targets,Neste noted.Neste has already been working with several partners in Germany,and recently announced the”world's first”production of bio-based polypropylene and bio-based low-density polyethylene at commercial-scale at Lyondell-Basell's site in Wesseling(PCN,24 June 2019,p 1).The business unit and Neste's operations in Germany will be headed by Mercedes Alonso,who joined the company on 1 Sept.2019 as executive vice president and member of Neste's executive committee.
