BP & ZPCC Ink MoU to Explore Creation Of World Scale Acetic Acid JV in China

Shanghai- BP and Zhejiang Petroleum arid Chemical Corp. (ZPCC) have entered into a memorandum of understanding to examine the creation of an equally-owned joint venture to build and operate an acetic acid plant in eastern China. The proposed 1-million-t/y acetic acid facility, which would be located at ZPCC's integrated refining and petrochemical manufacturing complex in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, would utilize BP's Cativa XL technology.
