BASF to Boost Ethylene Oxide Capacity At Its Integrated Complex in Antwerp

Antwerp-BASF said it will increase capacity by about 400,000 t/y at its ethylene oxide(EO)and EO derivatives complex located at its Verbund site in Antwerp,Belgium.The company expects to invest over C500-million in the project,which will involve installing a second world-scale EO line,including capacity for purified EO.Additional investments in several EO derivatives plants are part of the project and will be pursued in line with the EO expansion.The sequential start-up of new capacities is scheduled to begin in 2022.
