Birla Carbon Lets Contract to SNC-Lavalin For Air Quality Control Upgrade Project

Montreal— SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract from Birla Carbon U.S.A. for an air quality control upgrade project at its North Bend carbon black plant near Centerville, La. "To fulfill its commitment to control emissions in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's national enforcement initiative, Birla Carbon agreed to further reduce emissions of nitrous oxide, sulfur dioxide and particulate matter from its U.S. carbon black plants, with advanced control technologies and continuous emissions monitoring systems," SNC-Lavalin noted.
