Inter Pipeline Gives Update on Progress Of Heartland Petrochemical Complex

Calgary—Inter Pipeline said that a new propane dehydrogenation facility and polypropylene (PP) plant, both part of the Heartland Petrochemical Complex being built in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada, are expected to be mechanically complete by the end of this year (PCN, 12-19 Aug 2019, p 4). The approximately $3.5-billion project, located near the company's Redwater Olefinic Fractionator, will convert 22,000 b/d of propane into 525,000 t/y of PP using W. R. Grace & Co.'s Unipol PP process technology. The in-service date for the integrated complex remains the end of 2021.
