Mitsubishi Chem Investing in MMA Plant At an Undisclosed Site on the Gulf Coast

Houston— Lucite International has been selected to design and build a new methyl methacrylate (MMA) facility for Mitsubishi CKeralcaFr at an undisclosed location on the U.S. Gulf Coast. The 350,000-t/y MMA unit, currently in the design phase, will utilize Lucite's proprietary ethylene-based Alpha technology. Operations are expected to begin in 2025. Cost of the project was not given.
