Spinel and anti-spinel structures in inorganic pigments and variation in Colour

摘要

Inorganic pigments classified into many classes. Among those pigments, spinel type of pigments has many important applications and advantages in various field. Spinel type of pigments are very important type of complex inorganic coloured pigments which show bright colours compared to other inorganic pigments. These spinel and antispinel pigments have ccp packing lattice and depending on the type of spinel pigment, cationic metal ion is placed in tetragonal and octahedral voids. Generally, spinel pigments show blue shades and has good fastness properties and stability which plays important role in applications.
