US Researchers have discovered it is possible in alter the 'wettability' of skin using sodium laurvl sulfate. Wettability (the moisture level of the skin's outer layer) is responsible for defending the body against diseases and the adhesion of pathogens. Scientists from Binghamton University in New York have found that, depending on the ])H level, solutions of the anionic surfactant can control skin wettability.
