L'Occitane unveils green plastic packaging initiative with Loop Industries

FRANCE French beauty and wellbeing brand L'Occitane en Provence has announced a major initiative in its sustainability commitment by signing a multi-year supply agreement with Loop Industries to replace all its plastic packaging with a 100% sustainable PET alternative. The agreement will see L'Occitane incorporate Loop's branded 100% sustainable PET plastic into its plastic packaging and increase its current recycled plastic content from 30% to 100%. Starting in 2022,the aim of the initiative is for LOccitane to use only Loop's virgin grade recycled PET across its entire plastic packaging by 2025.”The innovative technology that Loop provides is a game changer that can help us fundamentally contribute to solving the growing global concern about plastic pollution,”said Adrien Geiger,Global Brand Director at LOccitane en Provence.”We are excited to sign with Loop,representing a significant shift in our approach to plastic.”
