Guangxi shuts outdated lead, zinc, ferroalloy capacity

China’s Guangxi zinc and leadproduction region in southwestern China shut atotal 544,800 mt/year of outdated and obsoletezinc and lead smelting and ferroalloy capacity inHechi city over 2012-2016, the China NonferrousMetals Industry Association said in a report onits website late Monday.The shuttered capacity comprises 306,800mt/year of lead, 155,000 mt/year of zinc and83,000 mt/year of ferroalloy capacity owned by16 nonferrous metal producers, data from Hechicity government showed.
