Brazil's NewSteel awaits permit to build FDMS ore plant

Brazil’s NewSteel, which hasdeveloped what it says is the world’s firstcompletely dry processing method for ironore fines, expects this month to receive apermit to build its first commercial-size plant,the company has told S&P Global Platts.The plant, to be located in MinasGerais state, southeast Brazil, is designedto reprocess tailings produced by ironore miner Vale in a beneficiation processusing the Fines Dry Magnetic Separation(FDMS) process.
