The Capesize market in the Asia Pacific andAtlantic regions started off the week on arelatively quiet note.“It’s pretty quiet today — not hearing toomuch movement on physical or paper trades, but sentiment seems to be rather stable,” aHong Kong-based source with a ship-brokeringcompany said Monday. The source said therewould be no drastic movement on freight ratesas both owners and charterers were moreinterested in watching the market than actuallytrading. “It’s at a standoff, owners are stillbullish and are asking for higher numbers, andcharterers on the other hand are in no rush, asthey feel rates could still come down further.”
