Vietnam’s Pomina Steel willexpand its meltshop capabilities with theaddition of a blast furnace to its existingelectric arc furnace at its Pomina 3 works, acompany source said Thursday.The new blast furnace, which will have ahot metal production capacity of 800,000 mt/year, is scheduled to start operation in March orApril 2019. Hot metal produced by the furnacewill be channeled to its 130 mt EAF, which feedsinto a billet casting line with capacity of 1.5million mt/year.
