Iron ore softens on scant buying, futures fall

Seaborne iron ore prices softenedMonday on falling offers and scant buyingactivity after two consecutive days of increase,which was in line with falling futures prices andsteel prices.Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Indexat $63.80/dry mt CFR North China Monday,down $0.65/dmt from last Friday. The frontmonthAugust TSI swap decreased by $0.50/dmt to $64.20/dmt over the same period.
