US steel scrap exports to India hita record in May as the US sent 188,504 mt ofmaterial to the world’s second-most populatedcountry and third-largest steelmaker.Most of the exported material toIndia, 106,245 mt, was shredded scrap.The country also received 46,347 mt ofHMS 1&2, according to data from the USDepartment of Commerce and InternationalTrade Commission.
