Barcelona—Finnish alloy steels and ferrochrome producer Afarak saw a first-quarter production decline of 42.6% to 76,405 mt amid interruptions at its South African operations, it said Friday in a filing at the London Stock Exchange, due to a lockdown in the country to combat the spread of coronavirus. The company's specialty alloys first-quarter output increased 11.2% year on year to 27,168 mt, while ferroalloys production slumped 54.7% year on year to 49,237 mt, it said.
