Iran DRI output grows 9% on-year in first nine months - Imidro

London—Iranian companies produced 20.78 million mt of direct-reduced iron (DRI) in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (to December 21), a 9% on-year increase, reported the country’s mines and metals holding company, Imidro. Mining companies affiliated with Imidro produced 31.2 million mt of iron ore pellets in the nine-month period, down 1% year on year, the holding company said this week. Concentrated iron ore output was 35.43 million mt, up 3%. Imidro also said that 15.39 million mt of crude steel was produced by Iran's major mills in the period, up 4% on the previous year.
