Asia met coal PLV FOB nudges higher on new booking

Singapore—Asia-Pacific regional metallurgical coal spot prices in the PLV FOB segment moved higher July 22 amid a new booking reported. S&P Global Platts assessed Premium Low Vol up $1.50/mt at $112.75/mt FOB Australia July 22, while PLV CFR China was steady at $121.50/mt CFR China. A trade was done late July 21 at $107.50/mt FOB Australia for an Australian Premium Mid Vol Goonyella, 75,000 mt cargo, with September 1-10 laycan. The cargo was bound for the India market. Indian mills were steadily improving their operating capacites and picking up some spot tonnages, market sources said.
