Singapore—Prices of domestic light scrap in southern Vietnam have fallen for the third consecutive week as domestic rebar prices weaken, market sources in Vietnam said Thursday. Bids for light grade 1-3 mm thick scrap delivered to mills in south Vietnam were reported in the range of Dong 5,900-6,000/ kg ($254-$258/mt) Thursday, with the midpoint down Dong 25/kg from the week before, excluding value added tax. Local scrap prices have dropped a total Dong 550/kg in a two-month downtrend since mid-January, S&P Global Platts data showed.
