Venezuelan HBI export price stable, but traders forcing up values

Sao Paulo—As pricing decisions related to HBI are still centralized to Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana, or CVG, prices remained stable for the eighth consecutive week since the beginning of September, with a few traders taking the risk and selling at about $100/mt on top of fixed prices, sources said. According to most contacted sources, while CVG is pricing the HBI at an average $180-185/mt FOB, traders are asking for $270-$280/mt FOB in the marketplace.
