China's Fangchenggang aims for 33% boost in steel capacity by 2025

Singapore—China’s Fangchenggang city in Guangxi province expects a 33.3% spike in its overall steel production capacity, or 10 million mt/ year, by 2025, S&P Global Platts analysis of local government data showed. The projected increase for southwestern Fangchenggang city will bring total output to 30 million mt/year by 2025. Market sources said Fangchenggang is a coastal city bordering Vietnam. There was a sole steel mill in the city years ago, but now there are four mills located in the region with a combined capacity of around 20 million mt/year.
