Pittsburgh—Wire rod prices in the US were flat on Aug. 14 as sources reported unchanged pricing at the mill and largely unchanged market conditions. S&P Global Platts’ weekly Midwest mesh quality wire rod assessment was $570-$590/st ex-works on Aug. 14, unchanged from the previous week. Sources indicated prices at the mill had remained flat following the August scrap buy, which saw flat shredded scrap prices in the Midwest.
