Atlantic met coal continues to move sideways

London—Atlantic met coal markets remained steady for the sixth consecutive session Aug. 19, with sources saying there were barely any price movements in recent weeks, amid low activity. A European trader source said offer levels heard the previous week for high-vol B hard coking coal from the US in the low $90s/mt FOB sounded correct, as he had seen prices for US high-vol coal at around $100-$101/mt CFR Europe for big buyers. He added that these levels also made sense with premium low-vol levels where they were.
