Taiwan’s Feng Hsin hikes local scrap bids again as seaborne prices firm

Singapore—Taiwanese electric arc furnace steelmaker Feng Hsin Iron and Steel has announced another significant increase to its local ferrous scrap bids, its second in two weeks, under pressure from rising international prices, a source from the mill said. The company’s bid for local HMS I/II 80:20, for deliveries to the company’s Taichung mill, will rise to T$8,500/mt ($297/mt) effective Nov. 3, up T$300/mt week on week.
