European silicomanganese dented by weak demand

London—European silicomanganese faced pressure from falling input prices and weak demand over the past week. A lack of demand from mills saw pressure mount on offers in the week that ended July 24. "Offers are all over the place," said one European trader source, who had heard offers as high as €880/mt in Rotterdam, but deals were thin on the ground. Deals were heard at €875/mt DDP central Europe for around 700 mt and at €855/mt DDP southeast Europe for a smaller volume.
