India import shred prices dip, demand slack

London—Indian import prices for containerized shred material softened over the week ending June 19, on continued weak demand and negative sentiment in the wider scrap markets. Platts assessed India import containerized shredded scrap at $275/ mt CFR Nava Sheva June 19, down $7.50/mt on week from June 12. The decrease is the first downward movement in the assessment since late March, when the price fell $35.50/mt to a three-year low of $242.50/mt CFR.
