London—Black Sea merchant pig iron prices remained flat in the week to Aug. 28 as China was resistant to further hikes and bids from the US remained too low for CIS sellers to accept, sources said. A bid from a US buyer was heard at $360/mt CIF Nola, a couple of market sources reported. Offers for CIS basic pig iron were at minimum $365/mt CIF Nola. This implied a mid-point between bids and offers at $362.50/mt CIF, which worked back to $342.50/mt FOB.
