Singapore—Japanese scrap prices rose for the second week on strong buying seen from Taiwan and Vietnam mills, sources said Wednesday. S&P Global Platts assessed the Japanese H2 FOB Tokyo Bay spot price at Yen 21,500/mt ($200/mt) Wednesday, up Yen 500/mt from a week ago. Buyers in Taiwan had switched to buying Japanese scrap since last week on tighter supply of US material and this trend continued this week, sources said.
