Singapore—Leading electric arc furnace steelmaker Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced a second increase to its domestic scrap buying prices effective Nov. 6, following its increase on Nov. 3. Listed bids for various scrap grades were raised by Yen 500/mt ($4.8/mt) for deliveries to its Tahara, Okayama and Kyushu mills, in line with firming export prices and demand in the region.
