Bursa—Some major Turkish steel mills raised their lira-denominated domestic scrap buying prices further on Tuesday, following consecutive hikes the previous week, amid strong imported scrap prices and lira depreciation. The Turkish lira lost around 1.5% value against the US dollar since the beginning of the previous week and began to trade in the range of Lira 6.14-6,15/$1 at noon Tuesday, amid the COVID-19 outbreak and military operations in Idlib, Syria.
