Iran's 2019 DRI output up 7.7% on year: worldsteel

London—Iran’s direct-reduced iron (DRI) output continued to increase last year, according to the World Steel Association’s latest monthly report. Some 27.73 million mt of DRI was produced by Iran in the twelvemonth period, a 7.7% increase on year. Production of DRI in the overall Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region was also slightly higher in the period. According to the worldsteel report, MENA countries produced 43.74 million mt of DRI in the period, up 0.7% on year.
