Pittsburgh—Approaching the long Memorial Day weekend in the US, sentiment for June steel scrap pricing was heard from multiple sources to be firm sideways, bolstered by multiple late-week export deals that saw East Coast export prices rise more than $10/t. "Happy to see the activity at this range," said one supplier of the US cargo booked May 21 and the multiple Turkish import deals heard May 22. "The market looks like it is comfortable at this level of 80:20 HMS for $250/mt," said a Midwest supplier.
