Singapore—The Capesize market ended the week on a mixed note with limited trading activity, as most market players were busy handling operational issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. South African miner Anglo American said Friday that based on the 21-day lockdown period in South Africa and the reduced workforce, it would expect an impact of 2-3 million tonnes in its 2020 production volume at Kumba Iron Ore and 1.5-2 million tonnes of export thermal coal. Miner Assmang has already declared force majeure on some shipments during the 21-day lockdown.
