Turkish import scrap price rally continues

London—The deepsea Turkish import scrap price rally continued on Aug. 6, after fresh UK- and Baltic-origin deals were heard to be booked late Aug. 5, at seven-month highs. S&P Global Platts assessed Turkish imports of premium heavy melting scrap 1/2 (80:20) at $284.50/mt CFR on Aug. 6, up $1.50/mt on day. The index has risen almost $30/mt in just under one month, since a recent low of $255/mt CFR on July 9.
